Come and try a morning of scrappy quilting with the queen of scraps herself, Mel Lewis from Sugar Bowl Crafts. Local artist Mel will help you think about colour theory to create a modern and fun block ready to turn into a statement cushion.
During the session you will create a patchwork block using both applique and piecing skills, and then (if time allows) turn it into a envelope cushion. This cushion would be a beautiful christmas present for that special someone.
The class runs from 10.00am - 2pm
Skill Level:
You should be able to use a sewing machine independently, have some sewing experience.
You will need:
Materials for this project are all included, but please bring any of your own scraps you might want to use in your project.

Mel Lewis is the designer behind Sugar Bowl Crafts. She has written patterns for Today's Quilter and Free Spirit Fabrics along with contributing to the Free Spirit Fabrics blog. She has worked with several of the top fabric designers to help launch their fabric in the UK and been fortunate to have her makes on the Free Spirit stand at Quilt Market in Houston, Texas.
