Get To Know Your Sewing Machine Level 2 - Monday 25th July 2022

£50.00

Moving on from Level 1, you will now enjoy 'playing' with your machine and putting it through its paces.  Use the overedge stitch to neaten raw edges, use the zip foot to add piping, use the satin stitch foot to create cording, try the blind hem foot to add ribbon trims, learn to couch threads down, use a walking foot and quilters guide.

During the course you'll make small sample pieces that can later be joined together as a decorative panel for a bag front or cushion cover.

Materials are all included, but please bring your sewing machine and all the extra feet and parts that come with it.

Please note that it is not necessary to have completed Level 1 before this course, but it is expected that you will be able to thread your machine and bobbin.

This class runs from 1pm - 4pm

About your tutor:

Wendy has successfully worked as a freelance writer, teacher and author in the sewing industry all her working life, during which time she has held the role of editor of several leading sewing magazines as well as having written 21 books, including The Great British Sewing Bee from Stitch to Style. She also runs regular residential Creative Sewing Weekends and writes projects and technique articles for various magazines and her own resource website www.wendygardiner.co.uk which is packed with tips, techniques and projects. Wendy has also been a presenter on shopping channels Ideal World, Create & Craft TV and Sewing Street TV. Plus she works with the leading pattern and haberdashery companies in the UK and organisers of the Knitting and Stitching and Festival of Quilt shows to deliver extensive workshop programmes.
All this has led to Wendy having a strong reputation and indeed fan base because of her enthusiastic and friendly approach to sharing her passion for all things to do with sewing. She is well known by keen sewists as well as the leading companies in the industry for her extensive skill base and knowledge of the sewing market.
“I passionately believe in passing on sewing skills and knowledge so that more people can make their own fashion and furnishings and realise it’s a pastime that can be fast, fun, fashionable and affordable. With today’s modern equipment and sewing machines it really can be easy to sew and I love to share that fact.”
