Kelly Anorak Coat Making Weekender £160 2 Days

£0.00
Join Our Waiting List

I love my Kelly Anorak!  Unfortunately I've left it in my conservatory where the sun has bleached the black outer layer, so it's time for me to make a new one.  So come and join me in our first ever coat making weekend.  In this fun weekend you will learn:

  • How to size and adjust your chosen pattern

  • How to work with the appropriate fabrics for your project

  • We'll also cover various outerwear techniques.

To get the most out of this class, you will need recent experience of using and working with sewing patterns independently.

Please note that there is the possibility to not finish totally on the course although we will make great headway and we will leave you feeling sure what your next steps are.

  • Please let us know at least 10 days in advance to coming what pattern you would like to use so we can ensure to have it ready for you in time for the first session.

  • All the fabric and notions required to complete your chosen project - these should be purchased ahead of time, although we will have many options in store and are happy to give advice prior to the weekend.

About the Kelly:

Style meets function with the Kelly Anorak; a classic shape with a modern cut, this simple coat is the perfect choice for transitional weather.

Lightweight and unlined, it features a two piece cuffed sleeve, optional drawstring waist, gusseted flap pocket and a zipper placket with snap buttons.  View A will keep you warm and dry with a roomy three piece hood, while View B features a classic stand-up collar.  Please note that it can also be made with a lining, please let me know beforehand if you would like to do so.

Kelly is just right made up in light to medium-weight woven fabric such as twill, gabardine, and linen, and will make the ultimate rain coat when sewn with a waterproof fabric like ripstop or goretex.

This course will run from 10m - 4pm on both days
