Class Policies
Class Materials
Each class will have different materials and tools needs, so please refer to the course description. Once you’ve registered for a class you will receive a list of the supplies you will need to bring. You may be able to purchase these in store on the morning of the class, but please check to see if you will have the time and we have the necessary items in stock. If you have any questions about what you’ll need to bring please contact us. Please note that due to space restrictions caused by social distancing measures we may ask you to do more preparation at home than would be normal. We will not ask you to do anything that would be impossible to do at home.
Coronavirus and Classes
Our classes will resume (slowly!) in September. Please read the following information so you know what to expect when you come to class.
Covid-19: Please be socially responsible and do not attend if you or a member of your household, or anyone you have been recently in contact with is showing symptoms of Covid-19.
Class size: Classes will be a maximum of 6 students. For some classes this will be less, dependent on the space needed.
Temperature Checks: All students and teachers will be subject to a temperature check when you arrive. If your temperature reads high, we will ask you to leave and you will not be refunded. If you can provide at an appropriate later date proof of a positive coronavirus test taken within 2 weeks of the date of the class, we will transfer your booking or offer you store credit.
Social distancing: We will space students at least 1.5m apart with their sewing machines. Please note that for some demonstrations it will be impossible to social distance.
Protective Equipment: Masks will be required in all areas unless social distancing can be maintained. They may be removed once in the workshop ONLY if social distancing can be maintained. Masks must be put back on once you leave the classroom area.
Airflow: Depending on the weather and comfort of the students the windows and door will be open in the classroom.
Cleaning: The classroom, machines and tools will be cleaned with disinfectant before each class. The bathroom and high touch points will be cleaned at the beginning of each day and throughout the day as necessary.
Hand Hygiene: Sanitiser will be available although we do encourage you to bring your own. Attendees will be required to use it when they enter, and after using any shared equipment.
Equipment: Where possible we will ask that you bring your own equipment, otherwise we will, if possible, provide individual sets of equipment that will be cleaned before use.
Refreshments: Cups and spoons will be provided by our cafe and will follow the cafe health and safety rules.
Cancellations:
We do not offer refunds on class bookings.
If you register for a class and later become unable to attend, we will gladly offer you store credit or a rescheduled date if you notify us at least 14 days before the class. After this cut off, we are only able to offer you the same terms IF your space is filled by another booking. If the space remains empty you will not be offered any remittance. We will notify you and issue your remittance in the week following the class.
If we have to cancel a class we will give you a chance to reschedule, or will refund you in full.
We will also not be held liable for any additional costs incurred, in relation to the class, when a class is cancelled either by ourselves or the customer.
